Hill Country Flyer
For those who enjoy stepping into pages from the past, the Hill Country Flyer is just what the doctor ordered! The Flyer, a restored steam train, takes passengers into an era long gone.
Traveling from the northwest side of Austin to Burnet in Texas Hill Country, passengers enjoy approximately 35 miles of beautiful scenery and rich Texas history. This journey can be enjoyed on Saturdays and Sundays from March through December.
The trip is not without old-time excitement. As the train arrives in Burnet, desperados on horseback are waiting for it. Thankfully, these desperados are only friendly models of the past. Period automobiles and music also help create an authentic climate for everyone to enjoy.
Visitors enjoy shopping, antique hunting and even visiting the century-old jail. The Flyer also offers special excursions, and may be booked for private functions as well. For information, call (512)
